Dream Team - Season 1
Below is a guide to what the series is about :
It's the
day of the Coca-Cola cup clash between Harcester and Chelsea and Harchester have
included youth team Captain Dean Hocknell in the squad. Dean arrives at the
ground early and looks out onto the empty stadium in awe. He makes his way to
the changing room and stands by his peg and the occasion gets the better of him
as he runs off to the toilet sick with excitement.
Back in County Down, Northern Ireland, new youth team signing Connor McCarthy
says goodbye to his parents as he makes the journey across the water to England.
Member of radio station 'Harchester Sound', Lucy Patcham gets a shock when she
is told that she will be giving the live commentary on the big game, especially
seeing as it could be commentating on her boyfriend, Dean's debut.
Back in the youth team changing room, manager Frank Patcham, takes Sean aside to
point out to him that when he cleaned the showers he missed something, a
plaster. They rejoin the rest of the lads and Frank uses this to give a speech
on awareness. Frank tells Sean that until he is fully aware of what's going on
around him he won't get the chance to join the first team like his older
brother. Sean is fed up about Frank comparing him to Dean and that is plain to
see.
First Team Manager Ron Atkinson announces the team for the Chelsea game and Dean
finds himself on the bench and Ron reveals he might get a run out towards the
end of the game. Things don't go according to plan as Harchester go 2 goals down
and manager, Ron acts and brings off Karl Fletcher and replaces him with Dean.
Dean has little time to make a difference as the half time whistle goes. A few
minutes into the second half Harchester grab a lifeline as Dean rises above
everybody to head in from 6 yards to score his first senior goal.
Connor arrives at his digs at the Bakers house and is turned away by Des'
daughter, Zoe having not heard anything about it, leaving Connor in a different
country, alone and homeless.
The game ends 2-1 to Chelsea and the fans vent their frustrations at Chairman
Michael Jacobs. Michael and Ron meet up to discuss Harchesters situation and Ron
tells him that the players they have are not good enough and gives him an
ultimatum to spend some money in the transfer market.
Despite the loss the team go out and celebrate Dean's debut at Studs and
everyone is all over Dean, especially the women. Despite arranging to meet up
with girlfriend, Lucy, Dean heads off with a pretty blonde and they make their
way to the boardroom at the club. As the two of them get close on the boardroom
table, Security spots them on the CCTV cameras as well as spotting Connor
sleeping rough outside the ground and record's every moment on video
