The Home Of Dream Team
Harchester United Football Club
was a fictional Premier League football club from the Midlands. |
Below you can read 10 questions that Neil very kindly answered for me today.
4th October 2011
1) How did
you get into acting?
I was studying for a Masters in Sports Science in Cardiff and
wasn't happy. I was boxing competitively at a high level and
working nights on the door in various clubs as a bouncer and my
life seemed a little off track. I remembered loving acting when
I was younger and decided to pack everything in and move to
London to pursue that dream. Thankfully it worked out.
2) Who would you love to meet and have
a chat with .. Dead or Alive and why?
I have always adored Paul Newman. To have sat with him and
talked would have been amazing. There are several 'greats' that
are still alive whom I hope I get the chance to meet, but Paul
Newman was very much an idol of mine.
3) What football team do you support?
Not a football fan. The only team I support even remotely is
England whenever they play.
4) What do you like to do in your spare
time?
I watch a lot of movies and enjoy a drink or three :)
5) What type of music do you like, and
what was the last album you bought?
The last album I think was "Fink". I love singer songwriter
stuff, Matt Nathanson etc...
6) Who have been the biggest influences
in your life and career?
My acting coach, Michael Armstrong. He took me on when I had no
money or experience and made me feel that my dream was real and
tangible. He's still a dear friend to this day.
7) What was your best moment filming
Dream Team?
I can't think of a specific moment, though I hated the naked
scene on Millwall pitch. I had to literally be naked in January.
I'm standing there, crown jewels bared, and looked up to see a
tour group being taken through the managers offices above. They
were all gawking out the window with cameras raised. Somewhere,
someone has those pictures.
8) Who were you best friends on Dream
Team?
Danny Husbands is still a good mate of mine.
9) What have you been in since Dream
Team ended?
Wow... so much. My first feature was 'Alexander' with Colin
Farrell, since then I have been in 'Quantum of Solace', worked
with Woody Allen, been in "Blade: The Series", 'Upstairs
Downstairs'... thankfully the work isn't drying up any time
soon. I'm very lucky.
10) Do you have any new filming
projects coming up you can tell us about?
I'm about to start filming the second series of 'Upstairs
Downstairs' for the BBC this coming Winter 2011.

Neil played Phil Wallis in Season 6
